Your degree is a beginning. Build what comes next.
If job descriptions feel far from what you studied, start by understanding the gap. Get guidance on what to learn and put it to work through reviewed projects.

Your path, in brief.
- Usual starting level
- Level 1 (Foundation, 3 months), then Level 2 for a full project and mock interviews
- Tracks that usually fit
- Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Cloud Computing, AI and Generative AI
- Time
- Treat it like a part-time job: regular study, one project at a time, reviews as you submit. The pace is agreed with you on the call.
- What you leave with
- A project you can defend in an interview, a resume that describes it accurately, and practice answering the questions interviewers ask about it.
A realistic route to a first role.
Entry-level hiring in India is competitive, and the titles that look exciting (Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, DevOps Engineer) usually expect experience. The honest first roles are analyst and associate roles for data and AI, cloud or technical support for cloud, and SOC analyst for security. DevOps is usually a second role after a year or two in development or operations.
Mentorship prepares you for those first roles by giving you something most freshers cannot show: a reviewed project and the ability to explain it. It does not give you a job; employers decide that.
Non-CS degree? Start here.
BCom, BBA, BSc and BA graduates most often fit Business Analytics (reports, KPIs and decisions for a business team) or Data Analytics (SQL, spreadsheets, dashboards). Both start from zero coding. Your degree is an advantage when the data is about sales, accounts or operations.
Gap year? It does not matter to the mentorship. What matters is a finished project and a clear account of what you did during the gap.
When do mock interviews start?
Level 2. Your mentor asks the questions an interviewer would ask about your own project and gives written feedback, and your resume is reviewed so it describes the work accurately. At Level 3, career support adds application guidance for the roles you choose; no interviews or offers are promised.

Which tracks do freshers usually pick?
These are common starting points, not rules. Your background decides more than your status.
| Track | The work | Coding | Maths |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI and Generative AI | Build applications on top of AI tools and language models, and test what they produce. | Start with tool-based exercises; integrations need programming. | Basic numeracy and careful evaluation to start. |
| Data Analytics | Answer business questions with SQL, spreadsheets and dashboards. | Spreadsheets to start; SQL is valuable for querying data. | Percentages, averages, rates and distributions. |
| Cloud Computing | Run applications on cloud infrastructure with access control and cost awareness. | Command-line skills; scripting becomes useful with practice. | Basic numeracy for capacity, traffic and cost estimates. |
| Business Analytics | Turn requirements and reports into decisions for a business team. | Spreadsheet-led starting point; SQL can extend your analysis. | Ratios, percentages, unit economics and basic statistics. |
Four mistakes that slow people down.
- Applying everywhere with the same resume
- Pick one or two roles and describe your projects in that role's language. Resume review and mock interviews begin at Level 2 for exactly this.
- Listing tools you cannot explain
- Interviewers ask about decisions. Be ready to say why you chose an approach, what went wrong and what you changed after feedback.
- Treating certificates as proof
- A certificate shows attendance. A reviewed project shows your thinking. Aim to have both a clear problem statement and a result you can defend.
- Switching track every month
- Give one track a full level. Depth in one area reads better than a thin spread across several.
Common questions from freshers.
Which level should a fresher start at?
Most freshers start at Level 1, which is three months and has no prerequisite. The team confirms your starting level on the call, based on what you already know.
I have a degree in a different field. Can I switch?
Yes. Several tracks, such as data analytics and business analytics, start from fundamentals. The track pages describe who each one suits and who should look elsewhere.
When do resume review and mock interviews start?
Resume review and mock interviews begin at Level 2, and application guidance begins at Level 3. Level 1 includes a career conversation with your mentor.
Do you place candidates in jobs?
No. GullyMentor does not guarantee jobs, interviews or salaries. You get reviewed project work and interview practice to show employers.
How do I choose between two tracks?
Compare them on the career tracks page, then consider the optional Career Audit: a 40-minute assessment with a written report, ₹1,180 including GST.
