Your mentor is a working practitioner in your track who sets your projects, reviews your submissions and tells you what to change. Mentor profiles are published here only with each mentor's written consent.
What a mentor does.
Recommends what to learn first, sets a practice project that fits your level, reviews each submission and writes back with specific changes. From Level 2, your mentor also runs mock interviews on your own project. At Level 4, reviews are 1-on-1 and include system design and architecture.
Feedback connected to your work.
A review examines your approach and practical evidence. For a dashboard, that means checking definitions and source totals. For a deployment project, it means reading the setup and recovery instructions and trying them. For a security report, it means checking authorisation and how findings are evidenced.
How mentors are chosen.
Mentors must currently work in the track they review and must be able to show their own recent work. They review for GullyMentor alongside their job. We publish a mentor's name, role and background only with their written consent, and we name an employer only where the mentor works there now and agrees to it.

Come prepared with working files, questions and notes on your decisions. Apply feedback and keep the revised version so you can explain what changed.
What a review checks in each track.
The same standard everywhere: approach and evidence, not just the result. Here is what that means in practice for each track.
- AI and Generative AI
- Bring the source material, prompt versions and failed examples. Feedback can focus on unsupported claims, ambiguous instructions and whether your evaluation actually measures the intended task.
- Machine Learning
- Check the split before the score. Feedback should examine data leakage, baseline choice, metric selection, error patterns and whether another person can reproduce the result.
- Data Analytics
- Review definitions and source totals before chart styling. Check duplicate rows, join behaviour, date filters, denominator choices and whether the dashboard answers a specific question.
- Data Science
- Inspect the question and sampling process, then the code. Examine missingness, confounding variables, uncertainty and whether the written conclusion goes beyond the available evidence.
- Cloud Computing
- Trace a request from DNS to the application and its storage. Check access permissions, exposure, backup assumptions and whether the teardown removes billable resources.
- DevOps
- Demonstrate a failed check as well as a successful release. Review reproducibility, permissions, secrets, deployment approval and whether rollback restores the intended version.
- Cybersecurity
- Start with permission and scope. Review reproducibility, whether the evidence supports the severity, what information must be redacted and how the remediation can be tested.
- AI Automation
- Walk through both a successful run and a failed run. Review the trigger, field mapping, duplicate handling, approvals and the information recorded in logs.
- Business Analytics
- Check whether the measure has a clear owner, definition and decision. Review the recommendation's assumptions, the alternatives considered and the information still needed.

No. GullyMentor does not sell courses. You learn from external courses you choose, and your mentor reviews the work you build.
What if my first attempt is rough?
That is the normal starting point. Reviews respond to what you actually did, so bring the first version rather than waiting until it feels ready.
Can a mentor promise me a job?
No. GullyMentor does not guarantee jobs, interviews or salaries. Your mentor helps you build work you can explain.
